Hello everyone.

I searched for quite a while but am still unclear what kind of doctor I should see regarding my bad shoulders. I thought it was just overtraining of the anterior deltoids at first, but then after a couple of weeks of going light in weight training and dropping front raises and upright rows altogether, I noticed it was more of my rotator cuffs than anything.

While benching 2 weeks ago, I heard a pop in my left shoulder and ever since then, I have felt pain in that shoulder; 2x more compared to my right shoulder. 2 days ago, I was trying to move furniture in my house when I heard different popping sound in my left shoulder; dissimilar than the first time. It didn’t hurt and it actually made the pain go away… But here’s the thing… instead of pain in the left shoulder, it now feels numb and has kind of a tingly feeling.

To sum up, it feels tingly, numb, and fatigued. My left shoulder feels very tired all the time. I can reach the middle of my back with both hands so if it is a rotator cuff injury, it must not be that bad, but does anyone have any idea what is causing the tingly feeling and fatigue?

I don’t have any medical insurance right now so I need to know which kind of doctor I should see to evaluate the problem; a chiropractor, sports medicine doctor??

Please help me…

Thank you!

You need an orthopoedist surgeon but.....you prolly can't see one without a referal from an internest or GP. Chiropractors can't help if you have tears. G/L

I had a similar kind of injury several years ago. I would have a sudden loss of strength in mid-rep, not exactly a good thing to have happen. There are several things that it could be: 1. You could just have inflamed the tendons/ligaments in that area 2. you could have tore your rotator cuff. Either way you need to go to an orthopaedic surgeon. Most likely they will give you a shot of hydrocortisone in the joint and tell you to take several months off from working that area. If it is badly torn/damaged then surgery is a possibility. Cartilege takes a long time to heal 6 mos-1 year but its better to take the time off to heal than loose the use of your shoulder.
