I want a diet personalized specifically for me. I just read the diet thread and after a certain point, I was lost. I want to try the diet in the diet thread to jump start my weight loss, but don't know how to prersonalize it. Okay, I am 5'8, 181 lbs. I want to weigh 165 pounds at the least. I am starting the gym dedicatedly Monday. I have been going periodically. So could some one please give me a specific diet to lose weight. Thank you

Hi Laney

I would say that you should stick to a daily calorie intake of 2200,you need to eliminate some things in your diet, and eat clean.

Eliminate all processed sugars, such as pop, candy, candy bars cakes cookies etc.
Eliminate as many processed foods as you can, such as fast food.
Include in your eating,foods like
Whole Grains
Protein(from sources like chicken,fish yogurt,cottage cheese)
Carbs(from sources like vegtables,brown rice,whole wheat pasta)

Try and stay away from white foods, like white bread, pasta, rice potatoes, anything that is processed using white flour.

Eat 5-6 small meals a day,vs three large ones, this is the way to keep your metabolism burning at all times,Example

Breakfast
Snack
Lunch
Snack
Dinner
Snack

Try and make sure that you have at least one protein and one carb at each meal..What I do is divide my plate into three sections.Half the plate is vegtables, the 2nd section is protein and the 3rd is carb.

Drink LOTS of water..to keep your body hydrated and to help eliminate waste better.

Small changes that you can make are
Switch to 1% milk
Eat no fat yogurt, cottage cheese and sour cream
Eat reduced fat cheese
Switch to natural peanut butter(no sugar)
Eat whole grain cereals for breakfast

Once you start working out,eat a protein/carb snack before a workout and the same afterwards, this is to help keeo your blood sugars stable and give you more energy.Dont workout on an empty tummy.

Have one cheat meal or day a week.Pick one day and eat something you really crave or want on that day. When I do this I eat clean all day then have my cheat snack. This stops you from feeling too deprived.

Learn to say NO to others and to yourself and remember that if you do slip now and again, dont beat yourself up,you are human, just let it go and move on.

Stick to it and you will reach your goal
