Just another new member here and thought I'd introduce myself to everyone. I've been working out off and on for a couple years and currently started lifting again in order to gain some lean weight. I'm 25yrs old, 5'8" and weigh 118 (Is this underweight?). Not sure when I lost the weight, but I used to be 130-135 through highschool and college and would like to regain those lost lbs. I wasn't too sure on whether or not I should put easy or hard to lose weight, but I chose hard to lose weight. Nutritional plan says to intake around 2000cals for progressive gains, should I be intaking more than that? I've been trying to eat 5-6 meals a day and have slowly been adding to the amount of each meal. Anyways, sorry for the long post and glad to be here.

Your on the right track jslee21, keep doing what your doing and when you get to 2000, stay there for a week or two and see if you neither gain or lose, if you do neither, bump your daily calories up 200-400 for a couple weeks. Wokout hard and you should start seeing gains.
Best of luck reaching your goals and welcome to FT!

Not sure if I had more fat than muscle. I did not really consider myself overweight but could use a little toning. I have not been gaining so I am trying to increase my calories to 2200-2400 which on some days seems very hard especially while trying to eat healthy. Not sure if I should be eating whenever I feel hungry, since I am trying to gain, or to wait the 2-3 hours for my next meal. My meals fill me up but I sometimes get hungry before the next meal/snack.
