About a year ago I stopped eating meat.Evey now an then I will have seafood. I work out 4-5 days a week and I noticed that my body hurts. Bad enough that I don't want to go to the gym. Someone mentioned to me that I could be lacknig the protein that I need due to me not eating me. I found a low carb, fat and calorie high protein (30 grams) shake. I have benn drinking one a day and my body feels better. However, I noticed thatI am not loosing weight. Since drinknig these shakes I have not changed my doet or exercise routine, but my weight is creeping up. Can these shakes put weight on me even though I am drinking them for the protein?

Are you on a semi-vegetarian diet? Your body needs protein from whatever source and you definitely aren't getting enough. The protein shakes by themselves won't cause you to gain weight but if adding the shakes to the rest of your diet exceeds your maintenance calory intake, you will gain weight.

30 grams of protein equates to about 120 calories. This is not nearly enough calories to cause an immediate weight gain.

Depends on the make-up of the rest of the shake.
