Having a meal 30-45 minutes before your workout with a decent protein source and slow burning carb is good. Have the protein shake post orkout with some simple sugars. Drink 1/2 right after and hen sip the other 1/2 over about 30 minutes. Having a meal 45-60 minutes after your workout with another decent protein source and complex carb is also a good idea.
