im am doing resistance training at the moment in order to build some lean muscle to help assit me in weight loss. i have no desire what so ever to bulk up in any way shape or form. i realise i wil not be able to gain 2 much as i am a female, but still i want to know how fast should i lift in terms of the speed of the rep. 3 seconds up 3 seconds down? or should i be goin faster with light weights and doing more reps? at the moment i use 1.5 kg on each arm i do 15 reps for the first 2 sets and 20 reps for the final set. please help me to understand because im hearing diferent things from everyone i talk to. thanks

1 sec up 1 sec pause 1-2 sec down.....
I would use 8-10 reps...dont go beyond 10...it's pretty pointless as a consistant workout scheme....dont worry there's very little chance you'll significantly bulk up even lifting slightly heavier....trust me on this....I know you're still doubting this...but you will not get bulky...manly....or any other thing you're afraid off....what you'll do is get better gains in strength... bit of muscle...and better fat loss ...
Using this 5-10lb weight is a waste of time..I dont care that you're female...unless you're 80....you can lift more than that with good form and all the safety precautions in the world....
