Looking for some advanced Powerlifter advice on this one.
I'm just curious as to waht you guys think about the "extra workouts" theory of Westside Barbell.
I've started to do one extra workout the day after my ME Bench day. I come in and do 2 x 20 bench press and 2 x 50 band pushdowns. It has been 2 weeks and already i feel like i am recovering a bit faster, and am better conditioned on my DE and ME bench days.
Just curious as to what others have done, and how crazy you can get with the extra workouts. Yesterday because I hadn't done abs in a week, i hit heavy abs as well in addition to the extra bench work.

If its working for you, then why do you need our opinion on it??? It will be great for some people, while it will tax others. I like the idea, however since I am already doing tbt and sports, I try to limit my extra workout.

I wanted opinions on how many extra workouts and the such. It's been 2 weeks, hardly enough time to give a good judgement. I've just noticed that i am recovered a bit more. I dont' have an extra workout for legs yet...
So was asking about opinions on the theory overall and how many extra workouts people do. Sheesh.

Well then know this. The guys that popularized it, the westside crew, all do different stuff. Louie Simmons may get as many as 20 (yes thats right) extra workouts in a week, while Vogelpohl does not drag the sled... It will vary greatly from person to person, and routine to routine.
