I am just wondering are there any studies like these(that show preventive potential of these herbal supplements)? I know people take milk thistle/saw palmetto/etc because they are said to prevent various ailments......prostate problems, urinary problems, liver damage, etc...

Milk thistle is pretty reknowned as liver aid. Slymarian to be precise. I will see what I can dig up.

I can never find much on these supplements in terms of studies showing their unbiased efficacy....this is why I am curious....especially that I have read about a some herbal supplements recently tested and found to have no significant effect compared with placebo....thanks for looking...

That is the "in thing" now to diss any supplements. My thoughts turn immediately to following the cash, in other words who is behind the funding of the study. :(
