BAD!!! Laxatives are not for weightloss, if you take them to lose weight they will screw up healthy bodily functions. Very bad idea! Try to take a close look at your diet, the key to healthy weightloss.

Manny is right, not one doctor or heath conscious person would ever recommend laxatives to lose weight. Besides becoming dehydrated long-term over-use of laxatives can damage muscle within the bowel wall. There are many other problems associated with their long term use (and use for weight loss would fall into the abuse catigory)!

I found this on a medical website. The doctor wrote,
"Laxatives only alter weight by causing fluid-depletion within the body. Paradoxically, they don't cause sustained weight loss because calories from food are absorbed in a part of the intestine that is not significantly affected by laxatives".
