ok guys .. well ive been on a cutting diet for like 9 days now .. and i def notice a difference .. but im kind of getting where i want to be ..

before i started cutting .. i wasnt fat, wasnt extremely thin .. i was a good size .. i was like thin enough .. just a little belly .. and i ate normally .. and maintained everything

my question is now tho .. say i was to lose 8 lbs when im finished if i went back to my old eating habits(the one listed above .. when i just maintained my weight) would i maintain my new weight .. or will i go back to my old weight and gain that 8lbs back

If you go back to your old eating habits, you'll gain the 8 pounds back, probably more. To maintain your new weight, you would have to maintain your new eating habits. That's where we get maintenance calories. Your maintenance calories fluctuate with your weight, BF%, metabolism, activity level, etc..

You might get some better answers if you throw out here what you consider a cut. For most of us on here, the idea behind a cut is to lose as much fat and as little muscle as possible. It doesn't sound like you had a lot of size to start with but to try and answer your question.... When you've been on a strict diet of any kind regardless of the desired result, you can't just arbitrarily quit and go back to something completely different. If you hit your target, just slowly resort to a maintenance diet and adjust accordingly. That may not be clear but say you're on a really low carb diet and suddenly go on a high carb one. You are going to balloon.

ok well i mean for my size .. im pretty muscular .. i just wanted to flatten out my stomach a bit .. i wasnt nearly fat .. just had a little fat on my stomach .. and so far im definately getting wehre i want to be .. but im just not sure on what to do once i reach my goal ..

right now for cutting i am taking in 1600-1800 calories a day .. so to maintain .. would i take in say like 2000? .. i would also like to make lean muscle gains if that is possible after

What your maintenance calories will be to maintain yourself once you reach your desired weight, will be determined at that point. But If you want to gain lean muscle then you have to be realistic, your going to put on a little fat in the process. If I was you, I would go ahead and put on a little mass now, then diet down. Just because it already sounds like your pretty close to where you wanna be physique wise.

guys .. i just realized today .. before i started cutting .. i had no diet whatsoever .. i realized i was only taking in maybe 1000-1300 calories a day .. and nothing really that unhealthy .. but i think its amazing that i am eating more .. and taking in about 1700 and am getting more cut .. just tweaking the diet

i just thought that was interesting and u all probably know this anyway .. but haha i found it interesting

Well, I have never seen anyone "cut" in 9 days. You may have lost some water weight which would make you appear more lean, but this can easily come back.
