I would like to connect with women who, like me, are trying to get fit post-menopausal. I have slowly gained 25 pounds over the last few years, but am three years into menopause and find myself having gained 15 of that 25 in the last two years. I am terribly frustrated and self conscious about my weight gain. To make matters worse, I find myself now being an emotional eater; a bad combo at best. It would be great to find someone to talk to who is dealing with the same thing.

I am not menopausal...yet, likely perimenopausal at 43, but the battle of the bulge is really the same for everyone. Eat healthier and get in some cardio and resistance training several times per week. Spend some time reading over the many posts on this site and learn all you can about nutrition and exercise. Clear your cupboards of junkfood (and cupcakes-hehe) and eat foods from the "List for healthy living" found in the diet and nutrition forum(it's thumbtacked) Think of it as a lifestyle change and you'll have great success. I've been at it a couple of years now and I'm confident that my menopausal years will be much easier to handle with my new healthy lifestyle.

Good Luck and welcome to FT!
