My weight loss has been at a stand still for a few weeks so after reading several discussion threads on the subject I decided to use the nutrition tracker on this site.Yesterday I took in 886 kcal,122g carb,44g protien, and 24.3g of fat.Even I,as a novice, knows this is not so great! So I printed the grocery list from this forum and am trying to correct this issue. Now to my question...
1.I read that when you are going to take on more cal you should do so gradually.I plan on doubling my daily cal intake, but I was sick last week and didn't pay any attention to what I was eating,in fact I went straight to the comfort foods...so would it be necessary for me to take in more cal slowly since just last week I was eating probably at least 2500 cal a day?
2.I clearly take in way to many carbs to lose weight,is there a difference between a "complex" carb and a regular one?Can I continue to eat more carbs if they are complex?
3.What is the difference in a kcal,and a cal..if any?
Thanks!

Try going for around 13-14 calories per pound of body weight.
If you don't see a change after around 10 days try going down to about 12. Do NOT ever go lower than 12 as it is not healthy and one can become sick. The increase in calories should be done gradually if you think it is too much for you.
Complex carbs are ones that contain sugars and starch and fiber. A simple carb will only contain sugar being fructose, lactose.

A kcal is a kilocalorie. Refers to same as calorie in common everyday measuring and the kcal is preferred in studies.

Hope this helps.
