I began my first gym membership last week so im a beginner at lifting and all that. My goal is to lose weight and for this week, im going to the gym mon-thurs. (mon, wed, thurs: lifting and cardio) (tues: just cardio)
today, i planned on first doing cardio then work on shoulders, biceps, and triceps. Im doing those b/c freetrainers.com recommends it. well, when i got to my 2nd bicep workout, i could barely lift any weight. I mean, with 15 lbs, i found it hard to do 10 reps of bicep curls. I just felt burned out or fatigued. i wasnt very tired, but i felt like my muscles were very weak. why cant i lift anymore? Should I just work with lighter weights or what? And what caused this weakness of my muscles. my other workouts, i didnt have this much trouble.
is lack of stretching the problem? i only stretch before my workout and not after every set. is the lack of rest the problem? i just did cardio yesterday so i wasnt working with my arms at all. What other things can be the cause of this problem and what should i do to fix it?

don't worry about the weight.
The weight should be challenging for you, that means if you do 10 reps, you should do properly 8 reps, hardly handle the 9th/10th reps.
It takes time to get strong...
You can be "weak" for tones of reasons:
- you re a beginner
- you re dieting
- maybee you don t rest enought (need 8 hours sleep/night min)
- ...
So keep working out properly and you'll see result soon

thanks maxcdc!
so what should i do if I cant even lift 15 lbs with good reps? just work with lighter weights?
so lack of stretching, lack of rest days isnt the problem?

too much stretching can actually lower you strength and cause injury
A better warm up is a easy jog or walking for 5 minsutes before working out and then do a very light set(if wanted) of that first exercise. I warm up for bench presses, squats, and deadlifts....never done a warm up for curls.
