I have been told there is an oatmeal diet wherby you have 6 meals a day. Has anyone seen/tried this diet? If so, can you share it with me. Thanks.

Yikes.. one meal of oatmeal a day is plenty for me.. but anyway I would think that would add up to be way too many carbs for one day and not enough protien, fat (ya you need a little but most oatmeal I've seen I think claims to be 0)... who knows but I did something on diets a while back and of the other crazy diets I found (rice, atkins, grapefuit) I can't say that I found anything like this one...

I agree...although thinking about what to do with oatmeal is pretty funny (oatmeal soup, oatmeal sandwich, oatmeal au gratin, oatmeal salad) LOL!

I love oatmeal and could eat it all day. I love all hot cereals and if this were a way to lose weight I would love to know. I could stick to this diet.

well like fireloard said, that's a lot of carbohydrates and not enough protein and fat. I don't think that this is a good way to lose weight overall.

WELL THAT´S NOT A PROBLEM, JUST CAOUNT THE GRAMS DAILY AND MAKE THE MATHS SO YOU WONT EXCEED YOUR DAILY CALORIC NEEDS. AND FOR THE PROTEIN, ADD SOME PEOTEIN POWDER OR JUST HAVE A WHOLE PROTEIN SOURCE: MEAT,CHICKEN...

You could also let the oatmeal cool down for a while, and mix it with equal quantities of low-fat cottage cheese... That's what I do. :)

I do know a guy who (pre-competition) ate 1/2c of oatmeal and a chicken breast, every 3 hours. It meant he was getting the same amount of carbs and protein at each meal, no guessing, and it leaned him out.
Boring and not nutrientwise, but it worked for him.

A prolonged diet like that could lead to food allergies and other deficiencies, so i wouldn't recommend it.
