The stores in my area are fairly limited in the choices of yogurts they offer, but I am finding them a great snack during my day at work. After seeing an episode of Oprah a few weeks ago, I'm now confused as to which one to choose. I guess I need help choosing between the lesser of 2 evils.

Do I pick the yogurt that has a gram or more of fat, and is made with real ingredients(real sugar, milk), or do I go with the yogurt that is 99percent fat free, but contains partially hydrogonated vegetable oil??

I just want to pick the right one, and I'm thinking the first made with ingredients I can actually say would be the better choice. Opinions?

I would go with the low fat yogurt (like 1%) with real fruit added. Read the label and get as low fat / low sugar as you can. Personally, I just buy 1% plain yogurt and add my own fruit, like mango...mmmmm....sometimes I even add a few nuts or even a bit of Kashi GoLean cereal. the bottom line is moderation. Yogurt is a good choice for you while pregnant.

Thats why I am asking, because the low fat/fat free varieties have the partially hydrogonated oils in them, and the nutritionist on the show said those are on the top 5 list of worst things to put in your body.

They both taste fine to me, and I know it's a good source of calcium for me and the carrot. Even with my pre-natals I lack in the calcium department. :(

You should be able to find 100% plain lowfat or nonfat yogurt that have nothing added (made from 100% milk). I also buy the plain yogurt and add fruit. Even if you add a little honey it will be much less sweetener than premixed/flavored yogurts. I personally hate all artificial sweeteners and avoid them like the plague. I would definitely steer clear of anything with hydrogenated fats.
