Protein Stored as Fat???

2006/07/19, 02:20 PM
Hey,

Just have a question regarding protein. My friend and I are having a friendly competition on weight loss and body fat reduction and I was telling him about my program and he says I'm eating too much protein. I'm eating 160 g a day approximately as instructed on the website, but he's telling me that too much protein will be stored as fat.
Is this true???
Any input would be appreciated:)

Thanks!

If you do not train maybee a lil, if you train ... nop

Anyway, if you eat that much protein, you ll certainly eat less crap then in some way... it s better

Yeah that's what I said! It makes me feel full and I don't eat crap instead! :)
I'm working out about 5 times a week.
I hope that's enough.

Thanks max! :)

The only way it will be stored as fat is if it makes you exceed your needed caloric intake for fat loss. If you are eating say drastically less carbs, chances are good that most of it will be converted to needed glycogen, protein synthesis for keeping muscle, and the fats will be used as fuel. This is a good thing, basically what keto diets are all about.

Awesome thanks!!!
I haven't been able to hit my target calories for the day usually so hopefully this wont be an issue! :)
Thanks for all the info.
