I just read an article on the MAX-OT type training. I am curious about the warm up scheme that the author proposes. What is the advantage / disadvantage of this warmup scheme? Basically it is saying, 3-warmup sets (12,10 &6 reps)@ 50% of 3RM, 2 sets, acclimation sets, (3 &1 reps) @ 67&80% of 3RM, and then 3 sets (6 reps) of heavy lifting (appx. 103% of 3RM) It just seems like alot of sets, although the reps decrease, prior to your heavy sets. I have been doing 2x10 sets at about 50% of 1RM.
