hi, i started lifting weights about 2 months ago. I have a small weights machine in my garage and use it 2-3 times a week and i seemed to have gained some muscle and got quite a bit stronger. The only problem is that i'm now able to push 40 reps on some exercises with all the weights the machine will take. Is this going to stop my progress in muscle and strength gain

Yep, doing 40 reps of anything will lead to muscel endurance, but no growth or strength. You will have to find a way to increase the load.
