When looking at fat levels on food we look to avoid saturated fat, it's usually listed as

Fat - 4.2g
(Of which saturates - 1.2g)

So what about -

Carbohydrates - 51.5g
(of which Sugar - 23.5g)

Are carbs in sugar form bad? harder to digest? quick fix only and not long lasting nutrition?

Carbs in general are sugar, just in different forms. So when they list a sugar content under the carb content, they are essentialy listing the simple carbs, sugars that will have a significant insulin response. They aren't harder to digest, they will just give you a quick spike in insulin, such as a quick energy rush which will come down as fast as it went up.

Nice explanation Roelof.

Jingo if you are cutting, you should avoid all sugar (except in the meal right after work out).

Too much carbs (and sugar) can actually be worse than too much saturated fat...... (not if that's not bad either!!)
