Does anyone have a problem with a sweet tooth? I do, REAL BAD. I have a tendency to eat maybe like 3-5 cookies a day cause I crave sweets so bad. Right after meals, especially. Does anyone have any advice on how to curb it? Much TIA.

Sounds like you aren't regulating your blood sugar well enough. If you eat 5-6 small meals a day that are balanced with lean protein and complex carbs and a little good fat, your cravings should go away.
I like to have a diet soda or a small protein bar to help when I do have a sweets craving, or even a mini-extra dark chocolate bar.

I find sugar free jello and now they have sugar free cool whip also, great combo. Virtually no calories, and does the trick.

I've got a sweet tooth BIG TIME. I do the same with sugar free instant pudding if you don't like jello. It is higher calorie so try the jello 1st if you have had neither before.

Thanks everyone for the great advice. I went out and got fat free chocolate pudding, that should do the trick! ;)

Hopefully you made sure the *FAT FREE was in fact fat free and not loaded with sugar?
Sometimes they say fat free but find a way to pack it in in other ways?

I have a huge sweet tooth problem my self...first I try not to keep anything in the house...or I'll eat all of it!!Second...try brushing your teeth...sounds funny,but it helps me...nothing sounds good after brushing your teeth!!:)

KC - that is one of my favorite ways to 'not eat' when I am hungry and it isn't time to eat. I love brushing my teeth, how clean and fresh my mouth feels...
Oh - and The sugar-free, fat-free pudding - make it a mini-meal by stirring in a scoop or two of protein powder after the pudding has set. MMMMMM.

Yeah, good point. Unfortunately, the cardboard thing with all the nutrition facts got thrown away. So next time I'll make sure.
KC, good idea...I don't like eating after brushing my teeth either.
Asimmer, that's also a great idea. I definitely have to invest in some whey protein powder.

i have a friend who has a major sweet tooth,a nd she makes her own sugar free desserts at home because she doesnt like the commercial sugar free desserts as she doesnt like to consume artificial ingredients, eg splenda, etc. She buys natural sugar alcohols (which dont affect blood glucose as much as sugar) such as maltitol and xylitol and just replaces sugar in many recipes, like low fat biscotti, cake etc. She even told me a recipe for homemade nutella which involved ground hazelnuts, sugarfree cocoa powder, peanut oil and sugar alternative (though i'm not sure the exact ratios). This is a good way to get good fats from the hazelnuts/peanut oil and it satisfies her nutella cravings!
