Anyways a new year....we have to workout in the center where the other athletes train. We'll every year we get a new coach to over see us. This GA( grad. assistant) said he's gonna put the guys on a "football players work out!"

Now while i'm very open to new workouts new ideas....

BUT.....WE AREN"T FOOT BALL PLAYERS!

One of th eguys asked him what rep range we'd be doing....he said
12 10 8 6 5 3 or somthing....he went real fast...he said guys would be doing alot of bench and squats...and no cleans or anything.......while I like those lifts( bench, squats) no wher ein cheerleading to we push a girl away from us?

These 2 workouts a week, will drasitcly interfere with what i'm doing now?

So whats a semi educated wanna be powerlifting cheerleader to do?

Lift light, call it a feeder workout. I did that for 3 years of my wrestling career.

I feel for ya, man. I put up with that BS all of my basketball career. My coaches always wanted us doin these pointless high-rep workouts and marathon runs every day. It not only was very frustrating, but it gave me a long list of injuries and tendonitis that still haunt me to this day. Just take it easy on the stuff that's not important.

Also this will be 2 days a week....I really don't wanna lift 3 other days on top of this....especially when i'm still doing westside split still. Plus practices.

Way I do in season is sunday is my max effort day...tue thurs are dynamic days.....the following sunday I do the max effort I didn't do the week before.

What I am doing with rugby, is the whole team knows I am a competitive lifter, so when I skip out on the lifting portion of practice, they know it is because I do not want it to "interfere" with my regular training. Just explain that you know what your body responds to well, and that you have other prioriteies other than a "football" workout.

Also, let him know how serious you are about it. Tell him that you make great progress and that you have worked very hard at your time there. Like you said, be very careful with what you say. This guy doesn't sound too bright, and he probably has a good sized ego.

H.I.T. can be great for bodybuilding, but dang, why throw it in an athletes face? I never understood that.
