My 9 year old son was complaing the other day...off and on..about a swishing sound in his ear.I didn't pay much attention to him, told him we'll look at it when we get home. When we pull in the driveway my son says "moooooom, can you please check my ear now"!?!?!?!?so we go in the house and his daddy takes a look, says he can't see anything, but maybe some wax,so we go to flush his ear with water.I'm standing there watching the water run out of his ear and I'm telling my son there is nothing there....and then a spider came out!!!!!!!I didn't know what to do but knew it was important that I stay calm...so I grab the little sucker and squash it,and explain to my son that I need to talk to dad...if he could just continue to flush his ear on his own.I quietly shut the door and try to muffle a scream.I freak out and go show my husband what was in his ear...the swooshing was that thing crawling around in his ear!!!AHHHHH...still gives me the heebie jeebies...I didn't tell my boy...will save that story for when he is older and will have no desire to sleep with me in my room!!!!

Oh my God, a spider? Ooh, gives me goosebumps. At least he didn't get hurt. My mom told me that when my uncle was real young, he had a real bad pain in his ear and would scream everytime my grandmom got near it. So she took him to a doctor and he pulled out a bloody staple!! EWWWW!

If the spider in the ear isn't hard enough to think about..my big concern was it may have laid eggs in there...I know double gross...so we called his doc and she said all was fine...they crawl in there to take a look around and get stuck in the wax..the temp is not what they want for egg laying or a house, but when they try and get out they find themselves stuck...NASTY!

Oh damn that can't be good. When I was a kid I had an ant in my ear. What a weird feeling that was. I thought my poor mom was going to be sick when she flushed that little bugger out.

If a lil itsy bitsy spider has you all freak out, read this lil tit bit about the Candiru aka Vampire fish of South america.....
When candirus parasitize humans, it is usually only when they are skinny-dipping while urinating in the water. The candiru tastes the urine stream and follows it back to the human. It then swims up the penis and lodges itself somewhere in the urinary tract with its spines. Blood is drawn, and the candiru gorges itself on both the blood and body tissue, its body sometimes expanding due to the amount of blood. This is all said to be very painful for the poor person who has this happen to him or her. Unfortunately, they are almost impossible to remove due to the spines. Amputation of the private areas is the cheapest, and most life-changing, way to remove the fish. Actual surgery is extremely expensive and involves inserting the Xagua plant and the Buitach apple up the urethra. These two plants kill and even dissolve the parasitic fish. If surgery is not done in time, the blockage of the urinary tract will prove fatal. The candiru is the only known vertebrate to parasitize humans. That is what they are talking about in The Rundown!
I suppose it means people don't pee in the swimming water, maybe a selective breeding of those parasites for public pools is in order.... -------------- Dont ever give up on a dream due to the amount of time it will take to achieve it. When i was younger, i lived on a farm out in the boondocks, so we had bikes and liked to grab our fishing poles and pedal our lil butts off every saturday morning, we used to see how far we could go riding no hands. one day we were riding down this hill, i was thinking i was cool riding my bike no hands, i was a lil tired and was yawning when this dirty bird pooped from up above and the bastard got me on my upper lip and most of it went in my mouth, well i wicked wiped out, my buddy behind me ran me over and crashed and broke his collar bone, and ill tell ya, not everything tastes like chicken like everyone says !!!!:surprised:-------------- Hold your head up because you have every right to.
