Heya all
So, I've finally gotten it beat into my head that diet is vitally, VITALLY important. Eating 5 meals a day, etc.
But, I'm a bit unemployed right now, which is great for getting to the gym, but not so good for eating well... or a lot.
How do people get 150g+ protein per day without Breaking themselves? That's a lot of chicken breasts/beef/tuna!

Where do you live? We have a store call ALDI's it is a discount grocery store well worth the money you save try to find something like that. as for getting enough one good sizes chicken breast has 30 grams of protein. divide the total amoutn of grams you need by 7 meals that gives you around 20 grams per meal easy to reach. Good luck

Honestly I think I spend less money eating clean because chicken, fish, rice, dry beans, oatmeal etc are a lot less expensive than buying processed or prepared foods. Keep an eye on the sales. If you buy the family packs of chicken breasts, already frozen since you'll be freezing them anyway, and you catch them when they're on sale, you can save a lot. Brown rice, oatmeal, quinoa, or other whole grains can be bought in bulk at a natural grocery for cheap. Whole grain bread is (unreasonably) expensive around here but you can buy the whole grain flour in bulk and make it yourself for cheap if you feel like doing that.

I don't think vegetarians are screwed necessarily; I eat meat most days but the bulk of my protein comes from veg sources and I don't have much trouble meeting my requirements - they aren't as high as some, here, though; I'm a fairly small person. Also not as hard core about my diet as I could be. :)
