Hi all,

I have just started working out at the gym and I am trying to lose about 50 lbs and also loose fat..since my BMI is so high..but i'm not sure if BMI is related to fat...

I am eating moderatly right...taking a protein bar in the morning for breakfast and eating small portions of meals and snacks..

After work I do 30 mins on the elliptical trainer, 30 mins on the treadmill (walking) and 30 mins on the stationary bike..and about 30 minutes using the weight machines for legs, arms and so on...and I do this about 4-5 times a week..

Am i overdoing anything and will I see results from what I am doing??

Hope someone can help me!!!

Thanks!

You aren't over doing but you need to find a balance. One thing that seems to be fairly common is that women have a tendency to under eat and over cardio. I'm pasting a couple of links that are thumb tacked in the forums. BMI is over rated but I guess it's a place to start. :)

Strongly suggest to have more than a protein bar for breakfast as they are not meant for a meal replacement. You are better off with a bananna and some yogurt or some oatmeal with an egg. Diet is part of the combination to your success.
Good luck and welcome to freetrainers.com .
