Hello everyone! Its great to be here. This site is great. I can't believe I only found it yesterday. Anyways, I put up my prof and am ready to jump in.

Anyways, it brings me to a question. I am looking to lose weight. I am already a pretty solid built guy but I need to lose the "protective fat covering". LOL. Is the classic low weight, high rep method actually a good plan?

Also, my cardio typically is 20 minutes on an elliptical. I usually burn about 300 cal while jogging 1.5 miles @ 4.6 mph. Then i spend another 10 to 15 on the stationary bike. Am I doing enough cardio and are these the right exercises? I am thinking of jumping to the rowing maching instead of the bike.

Welcome Nitehawk - This is one of those oft discussed questions so I'm posting a link to a pretty good discussion awhile back.
If you haven't read it yet, you'll quickly find that your routine is only half the battle with diet being the other half (if not more) no matter what your routine is. There are some super thumb tack posts in the various forums.
