I am so addicted to drinking coke its awful! I try to quit completely but it never works. I usually end up drinking 1 every other day, sometimes every day. Its a bad habbit that I would like to get out of. I am addicted just like people are addicted to coffee. Any suggestions on how I can break this habbit???

Start diluting it with the cafein free coke,50/50 and keep reducing.

carivan, so what you are saying, is that you believe that it is the cafeine in coke that makes someone want it all the time? I assumed it was the sugar. Thanks for the idea.

If anyone else has any other thoughts, I would love to hear them!

I would say defineatly the caffeine...be aware of caffeine withdrawls...terrible headaches and lethargy.I would do like Ivan says go with caffeine free...it will be easier to kick the coke habbit once the caffeine isn't involved.

I used to be that way with Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper. They were my morning and afternoon pick-me-ups. I stopped drinking soda in January 2001 and have drank more than a few sips since (not even diet). I switched to drinking green tea. The caffeine isn't as high so you may want to drink more than one cup. Brew your own - it's cheaper and much healthier. Caffeine isn't all bad. But if you're as addicted to it as you say you are, you need to ease off a bit.

Another thought would be that maybe she's not addicted to the caffine per se, but the carbonation. If thats the case, switching over to sparkling fruit flavored water could be an easy transition. :)

Mountain Dew and Dp both do have caffine. In the Coke there is more caffine per 8oz than 8oz of coffee. The sugar doesn't help. But if you can get rid of the Soda's all together, you will be helping your self.

On another note about Coke.. I buy it to pour in the toilet. Makes it nice and clean, and is enviromenly friendly!
