preheat oven to 350 degrees, spray cookie sheet lightly with olive oil spray.Ingredientsare 2/3 cup of your favorite chocolate protein powder, or one packet of like double chocolate Met rx or Myoplex or whichever, 2/3 cup of oatmeal, 4 eggwhites, 1/4 cup honey toasted wheat germ, 2 tbsp. of organic(natural) peanut butter, 1/4 cup of raisins. Mix all ingredients with just enough water together to form a thick paste like consistency. Form into round balls, the little ice cream scooper, and bake for approximately 12 minutes. Sprinkle a little splenda on top or the sweetener of your choice. yields abut 12 "cookies", 100 cal., 9 gr. protein, 11gr. carbs per cookie! |

If you use the ingredients listed, the peanut butter has some(use natural peanut butter, good healthy fats), the oats have a couple grams. Provided your protein is fat free, that is all. A variation we did on this was to use something like vanilla Met Rx, one package, chopped walnuts in place of the raisins. Also pretty tasty, but I prefer the chocolate.(who doesn't!) |

I thought I remember reading somewhere that cooking denatures the protein in powders - or was it microwaving? Anyone? |

I would worry more about the ois, like olive oil than the protein. The protein should be fine, and it is only baked for 11-13 minutes. |

Thought I may give a tip on these. We made them tonight with Myoplex rich dark chocolate flavor. They are killer, and with no sweetner at all! You can lots of times find single packages of this stuff at GNC's or other supplement stores loose for $1.75 or so, from a broken box or something. One package made 16 "cookies". (the little ice cream scooper).I have to hide these things from myself. They are too good. |

Hey, I tried your power cookie recipe...but I modified it a little and got a little crazy. I started throwing everything in there. After mixing, it turned out way to runny and I ended up turning it into a protein cake. How did it turn out? Well my dad eats anything and he didn't eat this! Neverless I ate all of it, can't let good protein go to waste! I'll try sticking to the recipe next time.-------------- -Adam \"Just think, you too could be like me...one day!\\" |

The recipe as is is great! They are actually more like muffins. You can substitute walnuts and bananas for the raisins if you like. I/my wife have done these many times and they are always great. The Myoplex double chocolate is pretty good, and if you are not on a diet of any type, try adding a 2-4 tbsp. of heavy cream in place of a bit of the water. Good gaining food!-------------- The one goal you will NEVER achieve is the one you never attempt. |

Sounds really good!
I tried chocolate protein mixed into lowfat cottage cheese - i don't recommend it, but i choked it down. When i dieted for the last show i tried to make 'ice cream' by adding extra ice to the protein powder in the blender, it was a sad substitute, but enough that it kept me from running to DQ. -------------- Challenge + Consistency = Results |

If you put them in a mini muffin pan and add just a little more water they are great little muffins. I have also added a teaspoon of baking powder to get them to rise better. Thanks BB1fit for sharing our recipe. You can also vary what you want as far as the raisins go. add nuts of your choice or even little dried fruit pieces. Asimmer there is a recipe for cheesecake made with cottage cheese and vanilla protein, I will see if I can find it. I am sure that BB1fit has a copy. I made that a thanksgiving and my daughter thought it was great.-------------- I will lift my own weight someday!!!!! |

Old fashioned, Quaker or another store brand if they are cheaper. Hard to mess up oats!-------------- The one goal you will NEVER achieve is the one you never attempt. |

============ Quoting from asimmer: Sounds really good! I tried chocolate protein mixed into lowfat cottage cheese - i don't recommend it, but i choked it down. ============= Yeah, I did that once too. I thought to myself, "How bad could it be?" Well, it was pretty bad, but edible. I wouldn't recommend it either. -------------- "Don't follow leaders and watch your parking meters!" -- Bob Dylan |
