how should i start working on my legs? i have a beginner work out routine and legs is first for the week. i have never had really strong legs. i am wondering if i should use any weights at all for the first week or just try light workout using weights.

Use very light weight and be ready for a bit of pain afterwards

I would say light as well...I'm the opposite..I have very weak arms...start slow so you don't hurt so bad after that you tell yourself you won't ever try THAT again!!When the soreness sets in..just do a light workout..get some blood flowing in those limbs,and you'll feel better in no time...good luck!

Go light, as mentioned above, and stretch after working out, before bed, upon waking, and throughout the next day. Drink plenty of water and eat well. The better your nutrition, the less the DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) in the long run.
