Hello all! thanks in advance for your help. I "ballooned" over what I thought that I would ever weigh. I have been convicted not only by myself, but also freinds and family. I need to loss about 80 lbs (currently 250, should be closer to 170 based on body type and etc), but an shooting for 50lbs at this time. I know that this will be a long road and I have all ready set up my "workout" side of things, but I need help!
I'm newer to this idea of watching what you eat, and need to have some point me into the direction of a good post, link, or website, with meal plans so that I can get the nutrn in line.
Agian thanks for the help, and wish me luck.
Thanks
Tom

Take the time to browse the numerous threads on nutrition and exercise. Everything you need is here, but you have to make the effort to educate yourself. Then, if you still have questions ask away. A great starting point is the diet and nutrition thread, check out the sticky called grocery list for healthy eating.
Good Luck and welcome to FT!

Well, you've been at it since your last post on 10/31, how's your nutrition going? I know I am having a difficult time as well. My goal is right about where your goal is 170-175. Hopefully I'll see you again at one of the diet and nutrition thread... If you need a buddy to work through it, let me know, I could use one too!

Hey take it from me 6'1" 380 at the start of this thing I havent weighed myself lately cuz I can feel it coming off and thats good enough for me...I know this is going to be hard but being big i know you can do it...walk at least 1.5 miles and don't give up i know it gets rough after the first .5 but try to extend your mileage or up your pace...also DO INTRO WEIGHTS I must say a couple months ago i gave up due to lack of results from just cardio and diet if you watch the biggest loser you see the advice yourself that one girl couldn't understand why she ran 7 miles a day and didnt drop but 2 lbs, from what anyone will tell you is lean muscle burns fat 24/7 where cardio just burns the calories while you do it Stick with intro the weights SET UP a FT program if you get a gym membership or do a home gym whatever you can I can tell you working out and weightlifting 2 way different results I can tell with my weightlifting program it is doing way more good than my cardio ever did

I am 430lb's and 5'6. I have benn reducting my fat intake and walking a mile every morning. The question I want help with is is it to early to start introducing weights. I know I didn't get this way over night so I do not expect to wake up in a dream body. I want to do this with out having the surgery.
