Okay, this is my first post here. I've looked, but I don't see a search feature aside from the Search fitBuddy. Is that the one I use, or does that question go to one of the trainers?

Any way. There are a couple burger joints around that have Tibetan Yak burgers. They are supposed to be really lean, since all the fat is on the outside of the meat and it's easier to get rid of the fat. They don't have specifics for calories/fat... etc listed where you can easily see. I was just curious if anyone here knew whether or not a couple of their burgers per week would be too much? I assume I would have to ask them about specific nutritional value, but I was just curious if anyone here had experience.

Thanks!

Fitbuddy is the search engine:)

I have never heard of yak burgers. I would guess they are comparable to buffalo/bison?

Depending on thier content, and what you top them with:), I can't see a problem with having them once or twice a week. But there again - depends on the fat content. The buffalo burger patties that I buy have 33g protein and 3g fat.

I have eaten Yak...it is ok, not the best meat taste wise. However, a lean cut of meat. Ostrich, bison and elk are others to try.

Now, as far as a couple burgers per week being too much?? For what? Are they the culprit in putting you over your calorie needs? If so, then yes. If not, then no.

Well, for the past 15 years, I eat fast food at least once a day, usually 3 times. My wife and I both work full time, and different schedules, so I've just never made an effort.

I went 3 months with no fast food or soda once on my own, and then once again as a bet with a friend. The first time, I lost 50-60lbs (age 21), and the second time, 20-30lbs (age 30). So I guess my lifestyle is the culprit. Once I get going on something, though, I can usually stick to it.

Today is my first day on a diet and it was set up by this website. Can it be trusted?
