Typically if you are following some sort of weight traing program your wrists and forearms will get stronger along the way. F.T. includes wrist curls and reverse bicep curls into my routine that helps! Perhaps a moderator will have some suggestions.

mind you I'm just a novice but back when i played football the best exercise that I ever found and my coach swore by was Reverse Dumbbell Wrist Curls you can find the exercise here:

It works wonders on your wrist and forearms

wrists in themselves dont have many muscles....its the junction of many bones, and mostly ligamnets.

I've had alot of trouble from my wrists from cheering. But I use athletic tape to tape them, or wrap them sith somthing....for the most stressful actions or moves.

Say if bench press hurts your wrists....wrap them a little. After your done witht he most "hurtful" move. Unwrap them and let yoru body catch up a little.

Slowly work your way down to less and less wrap or less and less tightness.
