Just signed onto the site today. I think the main thing that motivated me to sign up was the topic that I read about the misconception about "toning up". I have to admit that I too have mad that comment "I don't want to get big/bulky like a man" by lifting weights ... so, I found that post a very interesting read. I'm a member at the local gym in my town and get told so many different things every time I've asked for help/pointers. It's very overwhelming and a lot of the times very frustrating. I'm 27 years old ... 5'9 ... and am 185 lbs! Every time that I tell people how much I weigh they tend to think I'm kidding. I've had muscular thighs all my life and have somewhat of an "athletic build" but my problem area is my abdominal area. I guess my main goal is to see just how good I can look. That may sound a little vain but ultimately I just want to feel good about the reflection starring back at me when I look in the mirror.
