This is the precise reason I like antagonist muscle groups workouts.
============ Quoting from jeramiemaza: Just to put my two cents in I like doing back work outs with heavy weight cause I feel it in my arms a lot. (Rows & Pull downs or pull ups if you can). ============= -------------- Maximus from Gladiator....Strength and Honor! |

OK I know this is going to bring some stop worrying about the show off muscles comments, but knowing that here goes. I have a huge lower body from being huge myself lol I am following a FT program, but I would like to supplement that with an arm chest exercise and mutt being your guns are what they are I was wondering if you have a favorite exercise that you find burn it more than others...right now I am finding my tricep to good with lying barbell tricep extensions, but dont find the basic curl burns out my bicep like I would like preacher curls do well, but I need one more good one to throw in the rotation for my supplement for my arms-------------- Jason Fox 6'1" 380lbs Weight Goal 300 by april 2007 |

I never feel a burn with biceps....sorry I ALWAYS (when I was working the dierctly) did Barbell curls then dumbbell curls. I also did deadlifts and bent rows each workout...I credit that for my arms-------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! Warning:Deadlifting going on! 7707mutt@freetrainers.com |

Don't forget that your triceps are larger than your biceps. Training your tris will give your arms a bulkier look. Close-grip bench press and skullcrushers are excellent excercises. -------------- --JBennett "I've up-ed my intensity.... now up yours!" "Pain is only weakness leaving the body." I treat bicep training like Mutt: barbell curls first, then dumbbells. You may want to try seated incline dumbbell curls. They really isolate the bis in a way I think you'll like. -------------- --JBennett "I've up-ed my intensity.... now up yours!" "Pain is only weakness leaving the body." I agree with the incline DB curls - I usually do not "feel"it in my biceps when training but I can with them

If you are looking for a burn in your bicep's you may want to try dumbell 21's at the end of your bicep workout. It is 7 reps half way down and back up, the next seven from bottom to half way up and the last seven complete reps. It is done with the same weight without stopping and remember to use good controled from. -------------- Only two defending forces have ever offered to die for You. Incline db curls....the bomb to me. Follow that up with some strict heavy cable curls...you will feel and see results.
Example of my bicep day... 3 sets heavy barbell curls 2 sets of heavy incline dumbbell curls(about 45 degrees seated, go as heavy as you can..I normally use 50's, on good days 55's...these in fact were one of Arnolds favorites..I credit these more than anything with my arm developement) 2 sets of heavy cable curls(straight bar) -------------- Maximus from Gladiator....Strength and Honor! |

think about this too...what muscles work with the tri's and bis?
If your back got bigger/stronger...don't you think bis would too? Same for chest, if it got biger and stronger...wouldn't the tri too? -------------- Get your bicep curling, cut off shirt, matching workout outfit wearing, flexing in mirror "toned" wanna-be ass , out of my squat rack! I have done some super sets and last night did the incline DB curls and felt it good...thanks on that guys I found it helped alot because I had to stick to the bench with my back and not use it at all maybe my form isnt that great on standings and cheat alittle with my back.....bigandrew "If your back got bigger/stronger...don't you think bis would too?" Working on that too doing barbell rows and behind the back dips mainly and a little lighter deadlifts. too fat to do chin ups so went with the next best thing...I still work my chest my fav is flyes love doing the flyes Thanks for the help guys and more would be appreciated that incline DB curl sure does it

a drop set is when you load the bar bell with a weight that you can only get for a few reps, then set it down take off some weight and do anther set, take off more weight do another set etc-------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! Drops, stips, giant sets, supersets, etc. allow you to handle heavy weight to keep your muscle intact, while all the while allowing you to burn calories at what can rival a cardio workout.-------------- Maximus from Gladiator....Strength and Honor! |

When we are dieting, there is little chance our strength will improve. One area we can improve in however is cutting our rest time. As you do this, you will actually come to rival a hard cardio workout, while keeping muscle from hitting it with the heavy weights first. -------------- Maximus from Gladiator....Strength and Honor! |
