I'm not sure if I should even post this but it really grabbed my attention. So first I want to say that in no way am I supporting this theory. So here it goes, the other day I saw a sign that said DO NOT DRINK MILK IT CAUSES CANCER. I had to investigate this and this is what I found out. Evidently the guy who put it up had his wife die of cancer and he's convinced that it was from the hormones that dairy farmers inject into the cows and his wife got cancer because the hormones were in the milk she drank. Now this sounds pretty far fetched but at the same time I'm wondering how so many people are getting cancer these days. I mean just the number of people I know that have it or have had it is staggering. I never really thought about all the hormones that they inject into chickens and cows and how they might affect us. And this guys is pretty sure of his theory, although I'm sure he has no real evidence to back it up besides his own thoughts. Anyways, the reason I'm putting this out there is just to get some feedback from anyone who might know about this stuff. Sounds like a legitimate argument but I don't know of any real science that supports it.

Ahhh...the milk Nazi's are at it again! I don't know about you, but I can use all the help I can get. Keep the hormones coming!!
Seriously, I am an electrician in a milk processing plant. Do their programming, etc. Trust me, everything is above board.
Can't vouch for the cows...(though we do have one that sits at the front desk :))

HAHAHA! Good one bb1! Glad I wasn't drinking milk when I read that! Seriously I'll drink milk for the rest of my life, I'm a firm believer in the stuff. I just thought that was an interesting theory.

I've heard a ton of negative crap about milk, too. The 'milk nazis' ask why we're the only mammals who continue to drink milk after infancy. Well, we're the only ones who have the brain to do it. We know how beneficial it is so we drink it. As far a cancer goes... What was this woman's diet like? Did she eat a burger and fries for lunch everyday? If so, I wouldn't be pointing the finger at milk. How about genetics? Look at her family history. There are soooo many factors that could be involved here.

I completely agree with that. I'm pretty sure milk had nothing to do with it but I did raise an eyebrow to the hormone injections in animals. Just never really paid attention to that stuff. We just got done with an antire section of cancer info in my college class and not once was milk ever mentioned as a culprit. But poor diet and lack of exercise were mentioned numerous times as increases in risks of getting different cancers.

that is interesting, i have hard that too, not specifically milk, but most foods. i've heard from pro-organic sources - that the pesticides sprayed on plants and hormones and antibiotics pumped into animals can have a cocktail effect on the human body...i think it would make sense but im not sure there's any scientific proof on that. But it does make u wonder...it is crazy how many people get cancer, quite scary really..
