I am trying to lose weight and lean up, but am not sure if I should increase, decrease or keep the amount of weight per set the same. The work out that is recomended for me by this web site has my reps decreasing with each set. What should I do?
Welcome to Freetrainers. The first set is a warm up setdone with a lower weight.
As your following reps decrease increase your weight when you can. Hope this clears things up.
-------------- A little discipline at the table and at the gym might help reduce that belly!
Typically I add 5 lbs each set for single arm or 10 for double and determine starting weight by where I fail to maintain good form. I like to fail in the last set. Once I can complet all the sets I simply up my start set by one increment 5 or 10. You will have to determine what works best for you. depending on the excercise such as shoulders, you may only wish to add 2.5 per set or more for legs.
