does anyone bodybuild and are vegetarians????...if you a vegan what do you eat in a normal day?? do you have any concerns ??? about getting enough iron....

how many people do yoga?? how often do you do and for how long??? someone told me that they do it for 3 hours daily...isn't 30 min. enough???

I personally do not know anyone vegan who bodybuilds. I have read about a few vegetarian bodybuilders - but for the most part, they became vegetarians after they had already achieved their physiques. I can imagine that it would be VERY difficult to get enough protein as a vegan, as well as iron and maybe zinc and magnesium.

I think yoga is a poor choice of time, do some cardio, weight resistance training, alot more benificial.

I am a vegetarian, not a vegan, so I can't speak to that lifestyle. As a vegetarian, however, I get plenty of protein, both for healthy maintenance and for weightlifting. (My doctor thinks I get too much protein, but doctors all think that the 1 gram per pound of lean bodyweight that many follow as a rule is too much.) My protein sources are soy products, of which I eat many, and supplements such as whey protein powder as well as power bars like the Zone diet bars. As for vitamins and minerals, a one-a-day pill can ensure you are getting enough.
By the way, I don't consider myself a bodybuilder, just someone who lifts weights for strength gain and a little added muscle mass. Still, I have read about plenty of vegetarian bodybuilders who have made great gains notwithstanding their diet.
Also, while I don't do yoga (I find it too intimidating), I know plenty of people who do and it seems to be a great activity for both strength and balance (as well as peace of mind for many). If you are looking for a bodybuilder's physique then Intruder's comment that it is a waste of time is probably correct in that the time is better spent lifting weights. However, if you are interested more in balance and muscle toning, then yoga is a great addition to your repertory. Harcore yoga people are some of the most powerful pound-for-pound that you will meet.

Yoga, in the opinion of many, is not a waste of time. To me it's really sad to see someone with huge muscles, but no grace, balance, flexibility, or poise. Training is about all around health and fitness, so why not include some yoga? The only waste of time to me is time spent on the couch with a bag of cookies.
