What has motivated you in the past? I would suggest setting small, short-term goals instead of looking at the overall big picture. Short-term goals may include little things like adding a couple grams of protein at dinner by eating two more bits of chicken. What motivates me probably isn't the same that will motivate you. It comes from within. The more little goals you set, though, the more often you will succeed.

Motivation can be the most difficult task to this stuff. In reality, you almost have to look at it as a job you have to do daily to get 'paid'. Your pay in this case is a better physique, better health, and probably folks complimenting you on what they cannot achieve but only dream of. So, drag your ass there, do what you need to, it is only maybe 1 hr. out of a day and maybe 3-5 times per week. Not really much time in the context of the rest of your life now is it?

It's funny how BB1fit put it, because when you actually think about it, it's not a large portion of your daily life at all. I find it helpful to just go after work, school, whatever it is, and then work out. The problem for me is just getting to the gym. Once I'm there, I (mind as well) work out. But either way, find something that motivates you. Everyone is different. Like jbennett said, make goals, because if you fall in between one thing or another, you will never make a significant gain one way or the other. Good luck.
