Okay here is another one of my questionne du jours...when I measure food I tend to use a scale vs a cup. So for example (only an example) If i were to have popcorn i would weigh out 8oz vs filling to a line...and the same for pastas, cottage cheese etc...am I cheating myself? :0)

I find it easiest to weigh out my meat and things like nuts that you eat in oz., and I use a measuring cup for 1 cup or 2 or whatever.

When you eat out or have a dish someone made you, how do you measure that? Do you guestimate? Just wondering

Solids are weighed, liquids are measured. Things like sugars, flours, oats, anything powdered should be measured. I don't think 1 cup of oats (which is 8 liquid oz) would weigh 8 oz if you put it on the scale. With nuts it gets tricky as I have seen some say a serving is 1 oz and others say 1/4c.
