I think I had a discussion once about how there has to be a limit to the calories you can metabolize in one day. If you were to somehow consume 10000 calories in one day, would you in fact gain 2 lbs that day? Probably not. I figure at a certain point your body can't process all the energy you're putting in and expels the extra as waste. The question is, what is that limit?

i would assume that it would be different for everyone, due to everything from genetics to engergy expendature. i know that strongman anthony clark, while he was setting his highest records and when he was at his strongest, was consuming in excess 10k a day!

Good info, I actually said that as a joke, but in reality I think it is possible when you think of the strongman catagory.

I considered experimenting with the whole thing on myself, but decided in order to hit a really big calorie excess (like 6000 or something) I'd have to eat a lot of junk food, so I nixed that idea. Might've been fun, though . . .

highest i ever got was about 6500; damn, it was a lot of food, but it did its job so well that i didnt feel like i needed to go any higher.
and carivan, your're right. those 400 plus pound behemoths expend more energy sleeping than i do spending a half hour on the tread mill (LOL)!!!!
