I've always considered myself lucky that my husband is not a football watcher.I'm not big on the sport...I don't understand it at all...so am happy with a husband who doesn't have to watch it.

SOOO...how do I end up with a son that is obssessed with it.He's nine years old and loves football...he knows all the teams and the plays...gets all excited when something happens...the boy even plays tackle basketball(yes, the bruises and lumps are many).

Right now I walked into the living room...where any other kid would be watching cartoons...he's watching football highlights.

Is it just ingrained in some boys DNA or what????

I just don't know where he gets it...we don't watch football...the only thing I would watch is the super bowl...more for the commercials...and the pools...but in Spain with the time difference it came on at 2 in the morning...so I got out of that habbit...this is something he picked up on his own.I just thinks it's funny.

My 9 year old is the same way, he knows all the names and stats. However I watch football frequently...so it's not that big of a surprise for me.

It's funny, my in law's only watch football on Superbowl. They are not football fans by any means. And yet for Christmas, they got a little rubber football, and a fuzzy onesie that says "Daddy's Team" and has footballs on it for Paul. There was even talk of having him learn how to throw the ball in time for Superbowl Sunday.

dood, peewee football is the best thing since victoria's secrets, yes football is in the genes for boys, even thou it may skip a generation or two it will rear its head eventually, wish i had a son or two to take to the field and teach them blocking schemes and end zone dances, that would make my life complete...

as far as tennis goes, i like the grunts coming from the girls when they hit the ball, makes me a warm and funny.... ooops did i say that out loud ???

Seems victorias secret is also big on the boys brain...I busted him and his buddy in here looking for naked ladies the other day...told them both that I KNEW EVERYTHING..so they'd better spill the beans about what they were up to...and they did...they said some kids at school told them they could see boobies on the internet and what to type in to find them....but MY boy couldn't figure out how to spell naked..so ...thankfully...he didn't get to far.I swear this kid will put me in an early grave.
His dad said we should get him a dictionary for christmas.

My oldest steals Mommy's (and my) Victoria Secrets catalogs...I keep finding them in his room. That's what I get for letting a 9 yr old check the mail.

Crack me up!! I will never forget our first porn internet experience as a family - my son was in third grade and he wrote down what the teacher put on the board for looking up information on the White House ---well, we put the address in he had and it quickly was obvious that he didn't have the correct website! The next time it happened, he wanted to look up something on Cocoa Puff's cereal website --we were quickly introduced to a naked cocoa puff.....mom had to find a filter needless to say!

Almost anything you type into a search engine eventually winds up with porn of some type. It's actually a sad reminder of the times we live in.

How did we get from football to porn again?

Thats what I told the kids...they can see a WHOLE lot more on these sites than my brother could see in my dads playboys.

NOPE!!!!Not me this time!!!!It was bill...I think..

OK...we'll go back to football.the kids were getting ready for school yesterday..in the bathroom brushing their teeth...when a screaming match broke out...so I went in to referee and my son says to me "Do I have to give miranda 50,000 dollars"?I asked him what in the world he's talking about...he says when he grows up and is making millions playing with the NFL she said he would have to pay HER 50,000 a yaer because she was his sister...I told them they better get there back packs and beat feet before I grounded them...just for fun!!I beleive that is the STUPIDEST reason they have fought to date...and there are some whoppoers in there!!!!

Here's a doozy...but first keep this in your head...I'm 5'4" and 150 lbs...180 at my heaviest. Never was overly athletic and neither were very many people in my family. My parents were both within a few inches of height of me as well as my brother. So with that in mind heres the story.

My oldest...which is the shortest kid in his class (go figure) wants to be a Running Back in the NFL when he grows up, now there have been some short and stout RB's out there in the past, so I'm not completely discouraging him. However we were discussing with him that what if that doesn't work out for him...what is his backup plan? Trying to get him to think of a carreer and use his intellect (which he gets from me I might add...lol), but instead he says "I could play Basketball". My wife and I couldn't hold our composure and had to step away from the table to go snicker around the corner. Then came back and reassured him that he could do anything he wants to do. We're awful I know...

Your computer must be goofin' stump...you keep having double posts...any way..

that was funny...basketball...My husband is only 5'5...his father was 6'5...but his mothers side of the family are all very tiny...but at 5'7 I'm the shortest of the kids in my family...my kids seem to be taking after me...the boy is huge...but I told him if he wants to play in the NFL he'd better toughin' up...he picks fights..then runs off and leaves his sister to defend him...shes about 1/2 his size...she's been in more fights bacause of that boy..she's my little scrapper.

Soooo, with Ty being 6ft3, his dad being 6ft, my dad being 6ft2, my brother being 6ft, his kids being between 6ft4-6ft9, and then me being 5ft3.....do you think Paul will be short or tall??

KC, you're not the whipping girl, you're just fun to pick on!

You never know little mamas...depends on who's genes made it in there...my family on my dads side are all very tall...my moms short...when my sister was young she was always very tiny...everybody thought she would be short...she's 5'9...my husband...he got the short genes from his mothers side..you just never know...My daughter was ALWAYS the shortest kid in her class...now she's sprouting up.

Most of the time (there's aways the exception) these character trait genes come from the mothers side of the gene pool.
