Alcohol

As a young guy still active in the party scene, I'm pretty reluctant to totally give up alcohol while I'm training. I've noticed that most bodybuilders (and a few athletes) totally abstain from it, and I've seen posters here that fear it worse than death. Anyway, what effects does alcohol have on the body while you're in training?

Totally blocks any fat loss. Takes one hr to recycle your blood for every drink. Also puts up your Heart Rate.
Also cosidered empty calories.
Try and at least abstain on training days.

It works as a depressant on the entire body. Slows down metabolism. It breaks down in the body into pure sugar. However, keep in mind that there is a big difference between an occasional glass of good wine and a case of beer on weekends.
