January seems a haven of calm after all the holiday hubbub. At last, we can listen to that still, small voice within each of us. What better time to take a hard, honest look at how we fell and ask what it is about ourselves we might like to change. A new year is an ideal time to break old patterns and start to transition into the person you want to become. Whether it is being healthier, becoming more financially secure, exploring a new career or picking up something we've always wanted to do. It can be that your concerned about toxins in the environment and your home or simply want a safe and effective way to slim down, pump up, build strength, you'll find plenty of info here at Freetrainers, on the boards and with the great community of people we have from all across the world.
Whatever resolutions you set for yourself, be realistic about what your willing to do, and take manageable steps towards your goals. Approximately two-thirds of Americans alone start a fitness program at the beginning of every year and subsequently give it up-often because they were too ambitious or didn't allow enough time for change. Remember that mistakes are only alternative ways to learn. Sometimes you have to let go of the past to move into the future. If you feel stuck, open yourself up to opportunity. Look for a mentor, sign up for a class, and ask a friend to affirm your progress regularly.
This last piece of advice is something everyone needs to take to heart as most of us are our worst critics. Give yourself credit for your successes(all those days you did work out, all those healty whole foods you ate instead of sweets). Reward yourself with a massage, something you've always wanted, a weekend trip away..whatever you want. Always remember Wellness is worth the effort!
Here's to a year of Healthy Living and Happiness for all.
