If it does the whole town will shut down...these people already have NO CLUE how to drive...I'd hate to see them in the SNOW!!!!!! CristalBelle Posts: 1,389 Joined: 2003/06/27	2007/01/11, 12:34 PM When it gets cold here in Oregon, they talk about snow...but it never really happens, so when it does it's a big deal. 1/2 and inch to an inch on the ground and ODOT put out a release asking people to stay home. It was pretty while it lasted...the sun is out killing the snow now. :cool:

sstump1 Posts: 1,227 Joined: 2005/03/20	2007/01/11, 03:45 PM I'm in Dallas and they're not calling for snow...they're saying Ice starting Saturday night/Sunday Morning and just barely above freezing Monday and Tuesday. Could get ugly around here! I'd take 6 feet of snow over a inch of ice anyday.

msmogreen Posts: 717 Joined: 2006/04/22	2007/01/11, 04:14 PM KC, I was born in San Jose and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. Have been here all but one year of my life when we lived in Virginia. I was 5 years old that year and it snowed for Christmas--there were sleds under the tree. We had this sloping hill behid the house that was perfect for sledding. I love it when it snows here, but we don't exactly need chains...the big thrill is when there is still a thin blanket of snow still covering everything by the time I leave for work. But yeah, I don't think I could handle living where it snows in a serious way.

I'm convinced that it's all for ratings...they've been hyping it for a week now and then when we're only 2 days away they change everything and now they're just saying rain and cold, but not cold enough for ice and snow.

sstump1 Posts: 1,227 Joined: 2005/03/20	2007/01/16, 09:33 AM Well we got some freezing rain in Dallas Sunday night into Monday morning...nothing all that major...but I stayed at home just because. I could have gone to work, but I didn't. So instead I found a warm spot on the couch and keep the fireplace burning all day and we watched movies. Those are my favorite kind of days...very relaxing.
