hey everyone. i was wondering what could i add to my home-made weight gainer shake for good low glycemic carbs. i tried fruit but i need like 4-5 apples to get 300 calories. anything denser but low on the glycemic chart?

bananas are very calorie dense, and the protein will bring down the GI. If you train early especially, this can be ideal. Also, some peanut butter and raw oats. Raw oats are excellent and low GI. I mix them in mine all the time.

i haven't tried raw oats yet but wouldn't it be really thick, how do u blend it in. i crushed two cups of all bran cereal today to powder and added it to my shake. the problem was after 1 minute it all settled to the bottom.

Add blenderized cottage cheese. Whip it smooth first. Adds good protein and calcium. Oh, whoops, you want carbs, try frozen fruit like berries with no added sugar. They give you a better texture and don't settle as fast.

Some low fat yogurt might do. Really just about any dairy product will cover you. And natty PB is always good for flavor, too.
