Just thought I'd say hello.

I've decided to make some changes in my lifestyle and I believe support from people around you is key.

I'm 35, 238 lbs 5ft 10 inches which means (according to my BMI) I'm on the borderline of obese. My Doctor said last year when I was having a checkup for a mole that I was "Markedly overweight".

People around me are too kind to say things. My wife loves me, my friends tell me not to worry, but they are flat out wrong. I need to lose weight, for my health and my self-esteem.

So, here is my committment, in public to all of you!

This year, I am going to make a difference. I am going to lower my BMI and increase my fitness.

I am going to make healthier decisions about the food I eat and make an effort to choose a more active lifestyle.

I have filled in my details, I have my 4 week training plan and I *AM* going to do it. I'll also fill in the nutritional tracker, mostly out of curiosity.

Once question, it recommends my calorific intake at 3500/day (roughly). I was under the impression that a man should have no more than 2500 to lose weight. What's the story?

Thanks for reading, and I'll keep you updated!

Jon

Hello, welcome, and good luck!

The reason why it says so high is because if you eat too low below your bodies caloric needs, you body will go into starvation mode. Do a fitbuddy search below on starvation mode and it will explain everything you need to know
