I have the strength and stamina in my midsection, but I want to see definition in my ads, lats, etc. What do I do?

Eat better.
Do a fit buddy search. You'll get more information on abs than you can stomach.

Diet, Diet, Diet. Count your calories and create a deficit. Then, and only then, will you see those results that you want. Best of luck to you!!

is it logical to try and build muscle mass yet lose body fat at the same to to show off your abs?

Tough to do to say the least...the diets that are needed for either are not conducive to both. Usually this can only be accomplished early on in the newbie stage, and then for a short period of time.

Definition is about diet, regardless of what part of your body you want to be defined. Lower your total body fat, and you will see changes.
