I'm looking for a good site for competition gear...supportive costume and lifting belt specifically.
Thanks:) -------------- "But more than anything, more than anything, My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold" My Wish Rascall Flats I sing this song to my kids...but I realized..it works for yall too.... |

I know....but thats what the RULE book called it...a "costume"...I typed in PL costumes for women into google...not the costumes I was looking for!!...thanks rev:)-------------- "But more than anything, more than anything, My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold" My Wish Rascall Flats I sing this song to my kids...but I realized..it works for yall too.... |

ahahaha...that was a good one KC....:)
So mutt are you and wrestler going to dress up as batman and robin or something? KC as Catwoman perhaps? KC if you're going to use gear....belt, knee wraps, suit, bench shirt, etc....make sure you're comfortable with the equipment and know the groove... good luck | |

This is my question...do I HAVE to use this gear...I would be more comfortable in shorts and a sport tank...but the rule book says...under "Personal Equipment"...specificaly..COSTUME...."A lifting costume must be worn and shall be of a one peice full length lifting suit...."
I would prefer NOT wear one.... Man...thats the last time I quote the rule book to YOU guys! -------------- "But more than anything, more than anything, My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold" My Wish Rascall Flats I sing this song to my kids...but I realized..it works for yall too.... |

KC most of the time the 'gear' is not required(which i am guessing is the case here). So wear what you want. If your goal is not to simply push the highest numbers as a result of the equipment but instead to just motivate yourself and use the contest as a progress stick then ditch the gear.

They may not require you to wear a suit, but maybe a wrestling singlet; I know many feds do something like that. Shoot them off an email or phone call just to clarify - the last thing you'd want to do is spend a ton of money on some lifting gear only to find out that it's beyond what they allow in that particular federation.-------------- Michael Those who think they know everything, annoy those of us who really do. |

Well I will be rocking 1 of 3 singlets... Team USA, Team Ireland, and the black and red lightning bolt singlet (the one in my profile picture).
USAPL requires a singlet and t-shirt to be worn under the singlet. Shorts are not allowed because the fabric can interfere with the judging. As for gear, it's single poly, belt, and wraps (wrist and knee) are allowed, but not required. -------------- Gravity hates you. Enter the Darkside. |

All you really need is a singlet and t-shirt. I'll be lifting raw, as will most of my team. I believe I only have one lifter choosing to press in a shirt.
And singlets are the best part about powerlifting. -------------- Gravity hates you. Enter the Darkside. |

A singlet will run about $20. Of course if you want, you can borrow one of mine... Might be tight, but that'll just give you extra adrenaline...-------------- Gravity hates you. Enter the Darkside. |
