I am in the process of trying to get lean and reduce my body fat. I have read articles about muscle loss during this process and how sufficient amounts of protien can help to slow this process. Am I right in thinking that no matter what I eat, if I want to get lean I can expect to lose muscle mass?
My current daily protien intake is around 300g a day. What should my daily carb intake be if I want to lose body fat? I am confused by some people claiming you need to reduce carbs drastically and by others stating you need to maintain high carbs to give you energy for your workouts.
In case anyone was wondering Im accompanying my diet with 30 mins of aerobic interval training 4 times a week.
I would work to reduce carb levels to below 200g and remain above 100g. Lower than 100g and your workouts suffer, higher than 200g and you don't adequately metabolize body fat for energy. I usually hit 125g - 150g during my cutting phase.
