I recently purchased some digestive enzymes. The directions are to take 2 capsules with meals.
Should I take them with my main 3 or all of them?? |

Take them with meals. I am assuming you are saying you want to take 6 per day, so you want to use them with your 'main' 3 meals and not snacks. This is fine.-------------- "If it ain't broke, you aren't trying." |

Unless you have problems digesting....I think its a waste of money myself.
Eat some yougert and drink acidophlis(sp) milk.....that should help your gut out enough. -------------- Get your bicep curling, cut off shirt, matching workout outfit wearing, flexing in mirror "toned" wanna-be ass , out of my squat rack! Don't talk to me, only thing that should be moving is the bar. |

As we age, we all have problems, some more, some less. Research bears this out. What someone 'thinks' is not in play here. A 'preventive maintenance' practice is not a bad insurance policy.-------------- "If it ain't broke, you aren't trying." |

Then would he need to go see a doc and see if he has a problem. After all and enzyme is made from amino acids/ proteins.
I can see a joint formula etc...but does he realy need extra enzymes...if he doesn't have a problem? -------------- It\'s called a SQUAT rack for a reason..... You have to learn to follow, before you can lead. |

Chemical and physical is a continuous process in a living organism(humans). The build-up of new tissue, replacement of old tissue, conversion of food to energy, disposal of waste materials, etc. are an every day process. And these actions we take for granted do not happen spontaneously.
Surely you must realize that for instance as we age, this process becomes harder and then outside factors( for instance foods we normally eat, cooking, etc.) have a huge impact. A fact is without enzymes, these reactions take place at a rate far too slow for the pace of metabolism. Taking all this into account, again, it is an insurance policy. Free will is in play here, and the choice is yours. -------------- "If it ain't broke, you aren't trying." |

Well I am 35 so I figure enzymes are probably going to be a good thing. Again, I am just wanting to get the most out of my exercise and diet.
Today was my 1st full day of taking them and I feel less bloated as a result. |

I bet I coulda given you a sugar pill...and you'd said the same thing....I highly doubt with any supplement you can tell in just 24 hours.-------------- It\'s called a SQUAT rack for a reason..... You have to learn to follow, before you can lead. |

bigandrew. It was one supplement but 6 pills. 2 each at each meal. It's nothing more than enzymes to help digest your food. Why wouldn't you be able to tell after 1 day??
Your talking to a guy that is sceptical of most supplements and their effectiveness, so if I say I can tell the difference it's not because I took them thinking they would work :) |

On the contrary, there are many supplements (vitamin type) that make a very noticeable difference within 24 hrs., especially so if deficient. I think digestive enzymes work their best with 'breaks' between taking them.
Many of your more 'specialized' supplements are best used this way to maximise results. Many work better when you don't take them every day. -------------- "If it ain't broke, you aren't trying." |

Regurgitating bodybuilding mantra is rampant on many boards.
Not everything is about bodybuiding. There are lots of vitamins/minerals that if deficient in, almost immediate improvement can be very noticeable. Magnesium comes to mind immediately. Many are deficient in it with the emhasis these days on calcium intake. Listening, the anti drug. :) -------------- "If it ain't broke, you aren't trying." |

It wasn't like I was saying I could all of a sudden lift 50 more pounds on my bench or something.
It just made me feel less bloated and gassy. My wife can attest to the latter :) Breaks, what time table are you talknig here bb? |
