Hi folks,
this is a weird one, and I'm using you all to vent a little (thanks!).
Since the end of january I've been doing all the right things, eating better, being more active, weights, cardio etc. I'm seeing some real differences, I've dropped from 240lbs to 224lbs. People are saying how well I look, someone said I was losing my 'boyish charm', but gaining in sexyness! (They're now my new best friend). But...
For the first time since I started I'm on a bit of a downer about me. It feels like I can't make the changes happen quick enough, I feel like I'm thinner in my head than when I look in the mirror. My arms seem to be losing definition (my perception) and I just feel ... bleh.
What's the best pick me up?
Thinking about buying a new suit for work this week, my pants are nearly falling off me in the old one. My shirts are too big now too. The kitchen is calling me to have a blow out (which really surprised me) so far I've resisted.
Throw me a lifeline, give me your top tips for working through this little funk.
Cheers
Jon

lol, it's a good job I didn't need instant support!
As it goes, I did go to the kitchen and had a glass of water and a riveta. That seemed to satisfy the urge to munch. Feeling better today, off to the gym tonight and I'm going to make myself hurt tomorrow - that's always a good reminder that you're on the right tracks!

I think buying the new suit is a great idea. We all get the blah's sometimes and all want instant gratification. I'm feeling the same way these days, but I think it's just the Feb/march blahs...common spring:big_smile:

jonshez,
I got this polo shirt on sale just before Christmas. It fit pretty good, looked pretty good so I wore it for pictures. I also bought a pair of khaki shorts for $1.97 (Hey, I thrifty, not cheap!). Not so good, I couldn't even fasten them. On Valentines Day, my wife paid full price for a medium shirt. I told her I hadn't gotten medium for quite a few years. She asked me to try on that blue shirt I wore on Christmas:big_smile:. I looked ridiculous...the short sleeves hung below my elbows and the whole thing looked like a nightshirt (my wife asked me if she could have it for one). I tried on the new shirt and it looked great. I tried on the shorts and they fit perfectly.
So if you ever feel down, go ahead and try on those old clothes and have a good laugh. It's a great motivator to keep going. Then go out and get some new clothes and look and feel wonderful!

jonshez - sorry, i wasn't on yesterday at all !
You are doing great - your results are fabulous - we all have those 'why?' kind of days - and you did what you needed to - you rsponded by changing the pattern - instead of doing what you may have done in the past (binged or slacked off) you had some water (and a riveta?) and you are going to workout!
Come on, man! You have a challenge to win!:)
